The Business of Design series brings together Chicago's business thought leaders in design, marketing, communications, strategy and research. We'll tap the genius and the lessons learned from inspiring business leaders who understand the value of design and integrate design throughout their organization.
Jennifer Morla, President and Creative Director of Morla Design, has been recognized by virtually every organization in the field of visual communication for her excellence in graphic design. During this session of Business of Design, Morla will present her work and partake in a discussion moderated by Joseph Michael Essex.
Well-known companies including Levi Strauss, Wells Fargo Bank, Stanford University, and Design Within Reach comprise Morla's roster of clients. In 2006, she accepted an offer from DWR to serve as Chief Creative/Marketing Officer where she was responsible for all design, including catalogs, advertising, and web. For her accomplishments, the company was honored with the prestigious AIGA Chicago Corporate Leadership Award for the successful interaction between aesthetics and business pragmatics.
Morla lectures internationally and teaches at California College of the Arts. She has been honored with solo exhibitions at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and DDD Gallery in Japan, and her work is part of the permanent collections of MoMA, SFMoMA, the Smithsonian Museum, the Denver Art Museum and the Library of Congress.
