Lumen (839 W. Fulton Market St.) is pleased to host “Something to PITCH about,” the second annual fundraiser benefitting Creative Pitch, a local organization that gathers unused and unwanted art materials from the Chicago creative community and gives those materials, free of charge, to underserved art programs. On Thursday, May 28, 2009 from 6 to 9 p.m., guests will have the opportunity to support the organization with a $20 donation in advance or $25 donation at the door, which will include complimentary signature Veev cocktails, Red Stripe beer, hors d’oeuvres by The Balanced Kitchen and the chance to listen to beats by Hey Champ at Chicago’s hottest nightclub.

Local band, Hey Champ, will be deejaying their favorite Indie, electro, pop tracks in support of Creative Pitch. Scheduled to performon the main stage at Chicago’s own Lollapalooza this summer, the three-piece band has become a local favorite, promising to please with their high-energy music. Complementing the music is Lumen’s video wall and LED lighting designs set to create alight show to the sounds from the DJ booth.

The fundraiser will feature a variety of raffle items from Chicago locales such as Akira, Yogaview, Piece, Vosges, Connect, WXRT, Pivot, Rockit Ranch and more. All raffle proceeds will go directly towards supplying students with unused and unwanted art materials free of cost.
