Destination: Fulton Market

Chicagoans know the Fulton Market neighborhood as home to a bevy of pleasures, from charming antiques to cured meats. But we in the design community know it also boasts some of the hottest studios in town. So it’s the perfect choice for our first Studio Walks event of 2011.

On the evening of Thursday, May 5, visit four Fulton Market studios—Webb deVlam Chicago, Gorilla, Tandemodus, and Design Kitchen—for an intimate look at how and where they work. Create your own path to visit the studios you're most interested in and collect a custom designed button at each. A destination bar will be announced beforehand to keep the socialization and networking flowing (alongside equally fluid beverages).

Webb deVlam Chicago

Our office is located in the West Loop of Chicago in amongst meatpackers and art galleries. We are also in the middle of America and use our multi-cultured city as a foundation for our design work.

Our sister company, R5 Research (r5chicago.com) is located on the floor above our studio and features a fully functional qualitative research suite. We also boast an extensive global packaging library, a photo studio and an ideation lounge.

Gorilla
1015 W. Lake St.
Gorilla was founded in 1994 as a CD-ROM production company. Thankfully, Netscape version 1 was released in 1995, so Gorilla made the strategic decision to throw the CDs in the trash and focus on the web. Our roots began in web development, but our troop of problem solvers has grown considerably in the years since. A wealth of results-oriented ideas, design expertise, and technical mastery all align under one roof. We offer full service interactive design and strategy that seamlessly complements our development heritage.

We’re designers and strategists, thinkers and doers, managers and implementers (all at the same time). Our left brains work just as hard as our right. In addition to producing award-winning design work, we help our clients manage projects, organize information, streamline processes and communicate to internal audiences (the dirty work).
