Annual Meeting/Other Cut&Paste
Cut&Paste is producing THREE competitions for this year's tournament - 2D, 3D, and Motion Design - and throwing together the winners (all 48 of them!) for our first-ever GLOBAL CHAMPIONSHIP. You win your city, and we'll fly you to New York to go up against the world.
Digital Design Tournament 2009 is goin' big and expanding the tournament this year. The 2D Design competition returns in all its spectacular glory, now joined by new competitions in the battlegrounds of 3D Design and Motion Design. All three competitions will take place in every Cut&Paste city on the 2009 tour, opening the events up to more designers of varied backgrounds and interests than ever before.
Chicago will host competitions in 2D, 3D, and Motion Graphics for Digital Design Tournament 2009. Judges from all three design disciplines will be announced in the coming weeks.

CHI-TOWN SPECIAL: SHOW&TELL SESSIONS @ C&P CHICAGO ONLY!
Feed your brain something good for a change. Show&Tell is a pilot program, featured only at Cut&Paste Chicago this year. The series of live, 20-minute creative demonstrations/presentations provides a new way to share ideas and spread inspiration at Cut&Paste. The Show&Tellers keep it loose for an interactive dynamic—no scripted topics, no rigid structure, no bullshit. Just expect a healthy dose of creative insight and technique, live and in the flesh.
The Show&Tells will begin shortly after doors open and feature the following:
Punk'd for Nickels
Zach Dodson and Michael Renaud tell tales of revenge: pranking those dastardly perpetrators of cheap design on the internet (e.g., 50Dollarlogo.com). As seen on their very own The Show 'n Tell Show. (Great minds indeed!)
Fired Up!
Firebelly Design's art director, Will Miller, and strategic director, Antonio Garcia, talk inspiration. Watch Will as he walks us through the process of developing a handmade type design, and gain some perspective from Antonio as he shares the creative process that drives Firebelly in the studio.
Hello My Name is Chicago
Multimedia producer, recording artist, and urban renaissance man Shala presents a fresh look at Chicago's artistic community through the Hello My Name is Chicago project. The artwork of Hebru Brantley will be animated and on display.
Wear HOPE
Myra Mazzei of the art collective Country Club Chicago will be on hand for a special demo of the screenprinting process. It's DIY time. Come, learn, and choose one of our eight 2D competitors' designs on the theme of HOPE to print a graphic tee of your own.
Times and further details for each Show&Tell will be posted this week, check back soon!
