The Small Talk Goes Global
Small Talks have become a must-do event in our fair city—a uniquely personal way to discover how other professionals work within our design community. But AIGA Chicago wondered: How could we take the concept further? In our ever-flattening world, can we glean similar perspectives from beyond our borders?
And a new idea was born: the International Small Talk.
We commissioned short videos from designers around the world. We asked them about the places and techniques they use to do their work, to collaborate, to create. We solicited a peek at their space and a taste of their vibe, delivered in whatever format they saw fit. And did we get what we wanted.
As Chicago Design Week draws nearer, we’ll be sharing the best examples with you. Our first two videos—from Antoine + Manuel in France and Studio Astrid Stavro in Spain—offer an enticing view of what’s to come. We might all work a big world, but thanks to this project, it’s about to get a lot smaller.
