Join with your fellow members and friends for something that is purely social with the content being designed by you. Discuss the great things you learned at an AIGA event, what you're working on, how you'd like to become more involved with AIGA—whatever is on your mind. At the very least you'll be able to take a break with people who understand what you do. You might consider bringing someone who isn't quite sure what you do (i.e. significant other) and let them mingle as well.
With this event we want you know that we've been listening to you— that you want to have some down time with your colleagues. Clear Space is the place for this. The goal is to have quarterly gatherings at a local establishment. We'll change the location to keep things fresh. You will just show up. It costs nothing—you pay for what you drink or eat. AIGA will provide an area in which we'll gather. Overtime we'll reshape the meetings based on your feedback.
